In this clients previous house we had come up with a dark colour palette using Little Greene ‘Basalt”. They loved it so much they wanted to use it again in their current living room. The room is of grand proportions belonging to an Edwardian house, lots of original features and scale to play with. This time we paired it with Mylands ‘Belgravia’ on the ceiling and painted floorboards, a beautiful pairing.

The walls and woodwork were all adorned in ‘Basalt’ adding drama that screamed for bright, bold beautiful soft furnishings, cue, Designers Guild, ‘Saarika Azure'. This bold and beautiful striped satin fabric hung in the windows and sang with such vibrancy that more joy needed to be spread across the room in the form of table lamps and bespoke shades.

A large antique mirror and a chiffonier were transformed using accent colours of emerald, cobalt and sprinklings of mustard, to sparkle in the reflection of mirror like little jewels.
